Silk’s menu focuses on Northern and Eastern Thai cuisine cooking which are very popular in Thailand. By using better quality product found in the US., Our specialties include very traditional dishes such as Kao-Soi, a pot of boiling Chicken drum stick summoned in thick curry broth and tradition wheat noodles serve with sour pickle. By using the best quality product from the highest standard supplier and some local farm vegetables, we will surely serve our customers with the best quality and taste. The special of the month will be adjusted seasonally to provide a variety of options. This is a great distinction from many of the other Thai restaurants in the city.
Silk Thai was established around New Year Period of 2018, Silk Thai is opened with love and passion from an owner who have worked in food industry for all his life. Used to be Thai99 Restaurant, previous owner “Eddy”, is well known in the community. He has opened Thai99 for 17 years, it had a reputation to be the best in Charlottesville and have received the best of Charlottesville awards for 14 times. Since his mom is passed away 2 years ago, he designs to pass along this restaurant to his nephew, chef TK and wish him to carry along his legacy and reputation.
TK Chin has 20 years of experience in restaurant business and owed 5 restaurants and a food catering company. His father is a palm sugar merchant so he is involved in traditional Thai food business his whole live. He is thrived to provide customer with the best experience in his establishment.
TK wife “Fern Chong” is an expert in Northern cuisine, she is very detail oriented and TK believes that she is the person behind the success of Silk restaurant group.

Our lunch hours are from Monday – Friday 11:00AM – 2:00 PM. Each dish is served with choice of a crispy vegetable spring roll or lunch soup (no substitute)
